The Common Man Inn & Spa

Entire staff was friendly and professional. We were here for a spa day, dinner, and overnight. Wonderful spa atmosphere, very clean pool / hot tub/ sauna area. The Inn is quaint, with history displayed throughout. Check in was friendly and efficient. Room was clean, spacious, and decorated like a cabin. Restaurant was well run and food was delicious. Our entire stay was relaxing and very enjoyable.

I spend a week here ever year for my birthday with just my dog. The room is amazing, cozy, fireplace, big tub. The mini fridge never seems to be cold, maybe an updated one would be a suggestion. The spa is nice, hot tub and pool are clean. The steakhouse is hit or miss. A tad slow and expensive for the portion sizes, but tastey.

My stay at the common man inn lodge was poor. If you enjoy sleeping on hard surfaces like a box spring or maybe hardwood floor then this place is for you. This lodge “newly remodeled.” The owner must have called for mattresses and said “give me 100 of your cheapest and call it good.” It was so hard that i had to remove couch cushions and place them on top of bed. First night and entire stay hot tub jets broken and in order access pool/spa you needed to change in a lobby bathroom then walk through to pool area. First morning had hot shower next morning cold water only guess cheaped out again and didn’t size system properly to keep up. Only good thing I will give this place is restaurant at hotel was pretty gd, not amazing but decent. Do yourself a favor and find another hotel and enjoy area. We had amazing breakfast down the street old school ice cream parlor and some cool walking trails with waterfalls.

We had lunch here as part of a train tour group and were very impressed with the menu, quality of food and the service. The food items were well balanced, wholesome and not overly done. Items included vegetable soup, lasagne, butternut squash, mashed potatoes, stir fried vegetables, roast turkey, stuffing and plum sauce. All items were well prepared and tasty. The service by the staff was impeccable and warm. Convenient car and train parking and clean toilets added to the pleasurable experience.
